Web

In order to put your business online, you’ll need three things.  We will help you with all of them.

1. A name – You need a way for someone to find you.  Google is google.com, Yahoo is yahoo.com.  This is their domain name.  You need one too before we can start.  They cost about $15 a year (more or less).  We’ll help you register one if you don’t have one already.
2. A host – You have your name, now you need a host.  A host is basically someone else’s computer that stays on all of the time, is located in a secure building with a very fast internet connection, and is managed 24/7.  We don’t do hosting here (other people can do a better job, cheaper), but we have used several different companies and can recommend one to you.  They can range anywhere from $5 a month to several hundred a month.  Most people are fine with a plan that costs about $7/month.
3. A website – You have a name and a host; now you need content.  This is where the Web Shop comes into play.  Most people will want you to dump hundreds or thousands of dollars into this.  Why do all of this in the beginning?  You just want people to be able to find you, right?  Most people just want a photo or two, a phone number, and an address.  If you are a restaurant, they also want a menu.  We’ll do that for you.  If it’s basic enough, it might only take us 30 minutes and cost you about $50.  We can handle the bigger stuff too, but for most people it’s overkill.

The point is.  Don’t overcomplicate the matter.  It’s just a website.  No big deal.  If somebody else is making a big deal about it, the whole ordeal will probably just turn into something that takes WAY too much of your time.

WIFI

The Tampa Web Shop can also set up your wireless network.  Most people expect free WIFI today when they are in your shop, especially if it’s a restaurant.  Let’s give them what they want then!  You have to be careful though, because you don’t want your customers to have access to the other things on your network (like billing systems, security cameras, and printers).  We’ll handle that for you.  Nothing to worry about.

VPN

Congratulations!  Your business has now grown to multiple locations.  How do you connect your two, three, or three hundred stores together?  A VPN of course.  VPN stands for Virtual Private Networks.  A VPN solution will connect all of your sites together securely using standard DSL, Cable, or FIOS connections.  Don’t worry about people evesdropping on you over the public Internet because everything is encrypted.  The solution that we offer is verified by all of the major credit card companies as being acceptable for online transactions.

Computer Software and Hardware Services

Do you have several computers that need to talk to each other?  Do you need to add a networked printer to your office?  What about adding a central computer to securely store all of your backups?
